Vanessa Brown
Associate Partner
Vanessa Brown joined Providge Consulting as an Associate Partner in July 2011. She brings extensive management consulting and project management experience to the company with deep expertise in the financial services industry, professional services industry, education industry, financial systems implementation, software project implementation, business process design and reengineering and strategic and business planning. Prior to joining Providge Consulting, Vanessa ran her own management consulting company, BSV Consulting, Inc. where she participated in numerous projects for large organizations and a Virginia state agency as a project manager/business analyst in the implementation of large-scale software implementation projects and financial controls projects.
Vanessa's company, BSV Consulting, also worked with numerous small-medium sized business clients to provide business, marketing and strategic plans and financial forecast models to grow their businesses. She managed multiple client projects across numerous industries, including information technology software and services, biotechnology, training and professional services firm.
Prior to starting her own firm, Vanessa worked as a Director of Business Development and Project Manager for Freddie Mac. As a Director, she managed a staff of 15-17 project managers and business analysts and project budgets of $2-4 million annually to implement large scale software development projects for Loan Prospector®, Freddie Mac's automated underwriting system. She was also responsible for strategy development, staff development, management reporting, budgeting, and training internal customers, external users, mortgage insurers and regulatory agencies on automated underwriting. As a Project Manager, Vanessa managed and implemented numerous large scale software development projects, including an EDI implementation for mortgage insurers to integrate with automated underwriting and a project that converted a mission critical business process to a client/server, fault tolerant platform that saved the company from potential losses of $100,000 per hour during system outages.
Vanessa received her MBA from George Washington University in 1993 and her BBA with a major in Management Information Systems and a minor in Economics from James Madison University in 1985.
